Monday, May 6, 2024 - Due to overwhelming success, Tomorrowland is excited to announce that ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’, the festival’s unique immersive audio-visual experience for all ages, will be opening its doors in the heart of Madrid in the fall of 2024. Since its very first introduction to the world in Barcelona in December 2023, ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ has been attracting more than 40.000 visitors from 56 different countries around the world over the past months to embark on an unprecedented VR experience and explore Tomorrowland’s captivating themes like never before. 'The Great Library of Tomorrow' has been created and developed by Tomorrowland and XR Music Hub teams (formed by Layers of Reality and Blanco y Negro Music). Since its opening in Barcelona in December 2023, ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ instantly became one of the city’s most popular attractions. More than 40.000 guests from all ages have come by to dive into the magical universe of one of the world’s most iconic festivals, just a few steps from Plaça Catalunya. Notable guests have included Spanish actors Àngel Llàcer and José Corbacho, Spanish chefs Ferran Adrià and Christian Escribà, international DJs Miriam Nervo and B Jones, as well as international chefs Roger van Damme, Nick Bril, Thijs Meliefste and Marcelo Ballardin. Moreover, Catalan institutions and Barcelona Tourism Office have supported the project in the city because of its unique character and international impact.
Schools, universities, and companies from around the country related to audio-visual, image, sound, gaming, technology, and innovation have visited ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’, as well as Startup.Flanders, the start-up unit within Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT), and The Federation of Belgian Chambers of Commerce. During the record-breaking ISE exhibition (the world’s leading audio-visual and systems integration exhibition) in January, ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ was selected for an exclusive ISE Tech Tour, due to the project’s cutting-edge innovation. Also during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the leading VR brand HTC commended ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ as one of the best experiences in the world.
Designed for an audience of all ages, ‘The Great Library of Tomorrow’ takes visitors through Tomorrowland’s captivating realms for a unique and unprecedented VR experience, from the World of the Great Tree to the Realm of Melodia. During the nearly 1-hour journey, guests are drawn into the magical universe of Tomorrowland through cutting-edge technology, diving into a world where each corner whispers tales of magic and wonder.

Celebrating 20 years of Tomorrowland, Tomorrowland Belgium 2024 will take place across two weekends from July 19-21 and July 26-28. Set to open up a new world in the beautiful scenery of De Schorre in Boom in the summer of 2024, the festival’s new theme ‘LIFE’ is the prequel of the 2016 ‘Elixir of Life’ theme.
